Gujarat and New Jersey ink Sister – State agreement

Gandhinagar: New Jersey and Gujarat inked sister state agreement today in Gujarat capital Gandhinagar in presence of Mr. Philip. D. Murphy, Governor of New Jersey and Vijaybhai Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat.
According to a statement issued by Government of Gujarat the areas of cooperation between two States include economy, clean energy, education, tourism, cultural exchange, healthcare, trade, pharma, I.T., real estate, collaboration between universities, faculty and students exchange, logistic, transportation, port-led development and investment.
The Chief Minister during his interaction with Governor Murphy pointed out that large number of Gujaratis are settled in New Jersey since many years. The people of Gujarat have contributed to economic activities in New Jersey.
Governor Murphy invited Chief Minister Rupani to visit New Jersey. He admired contribution of Gujarati community to economic progress of New Jersey. He also said that his delegation was joined by Gujarat origin members.
Both leaders stressed on setting up some channel of communication for continuous follow-up with result-oriented approach.
Gujarat Chief Minister suggested faculty exchange and students exchange between universities of both States.
