Schedule of by-polls for Radhanpur and Bayad assembly seats announced by ECI

Gandhinagar: Two vacant assembly seats in Gujarat – Radhanpur and Bayad will go for by-polls on 21st October. Election Commission of India (ECI) today announced the schedule of two-seat by-poll. ECI had yesterday declared the schedule of by-polls for another four vacant assembly seats in Gujarat. By-poll is necessitated on Radhanpur and Bayad seats due to resignations of then Congress MLAs Alpesh Thakor and Dhavalsinh Zala. Both later joined BJP. They are likely to contest on their respective assembly seats again in by-poll as BJP candidates.

Last date of nominations: 30th October
Scrutiny of nominations: 1st October
Last date for withdrawal: 3rd October
Date of poll: 21st October
Date of counting: 24th October
Date before election to be completed: 27th October

The schedule is same as the schedule declared yesterday for four other vacant assembly seats namely Tharad, Kheralu, Amraiwadi(in Ahmedabad city) and Lunawada.
