Ahmedabad: Large number of medical professionals, commoners joined Dr. HL Trivedi’s funeral procession here today. Known as ‘Kidney of Gujarat’, Dr. Trivedi was conferred with Padma award in 2015. He left his shining career in West and returned to India to serve poor here. Dr. Trivedi founded a Kidney hospital/research institute through donations and was considered pioneer of kidney transplant in Gujarat. With support of Gujarat government, his dream of setting up a university dedicated to Kidney research was fulfilled during his life time. Dr. Trivedi passed away yesterday afternoon after prolong age-related illnes. He was 87. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani were among those who paid tribute to a great doctor on micro blogging site twitter.
