Passport of Swami Nityanand had expired in September 2018, he is trace-less since then: Police

Gandhinagar: Amid the ongoing controversy over the alleged ill-treatment with Children and disappearance of a young girl from his Ashram here, Police today said that the passport of controversial god-man Swami Nityananda had expired in September last year and his whereabouts were not known.
Dy SP K T Kamaria who is investing the case told newsmen here today.
He said that currently the police was unaware about where the controversial Swami was living. ‘His passport had expired way back in September last year and we don’t know where he is currently. Our investigation is on and if the need arises, we will go to his Bengaluru Ashram,’ he said.
He also said that the cyber cell of the crime branch was trying to track the location of the two sisters and daughter of former disciple who despite issuing video messages were not showing up physically. But they too have not yet been tracked as they were constantly using a proxy network for the video messages. ‘We have also contacted the Emigration department to confirm whether Nityanadita, one of the two sisters, had gone abroad or not but it has not yet been confirmed. We also apprehend that she might have used a dummy passport or else she is hiding somewhere in India itself. We are also currently unaware of the whereabouts of Nityananda. His Indian Passport had expired in September 2018. All this is being investigated,’ the police officer said.
