Curfew in parts of Ahmedabad from tomorrow

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today announced curfew from 6 am tomorrow in parts of Ahmedabad that include the Wall city area and Danilimda area till 6 am on April 21. The Chief Minister said that only women will be allowed to go out daily during 01 to 4 pm so that they can go out to purchase essential items such as milk, grocery and medicines. Rupani said Ahmedabad has 350 cases of Coronavirus which is 50% of total cases across the State. Even in Ahmedabad more cases are detected in Danilimda and Wall city area. The Government has therefore decided to curb Coronavirus spread with aggressive efforts in coming days in these areas by mobilizing the health department. Rupani said lockdown will continue in the State with strict implementation.

Sharing more details on this, City police commissioner in a media briefing said that curfew will be effective in Shahpur, Karanj, Kalupur, Khadia, Gaekwad Haveli, Dariyapur and Danilimda Police Station areas from 6 am tomorrow with provision of exemption for women only for purchase of essential items during 1 to 4 pm everyday.

It’s worth noting that Chief Minister Rupani had called local MLAs from wall city area and held a meeting with them before taking a decision on curfew to seek their cooperation.
