Jamnagar to be marked as green zone in the next review: Poonam Madam
May 03, 2020
Jamnagar: Jamnagar Lok Sabha member Poonamben Madam on Saturday said she has made a representation before the State and the Central government regarding no green zone status to Jamnagar district in recently announced nationwide zoning list of districts by the department of Health, Government of India.
Madam said, the district has not seen detection of Covid19 case in last more than 26 days, but instead of green zone status, the district has been awarded orange zone status which is a cause of concern for the people of district.
‘If due to communication gap, Jamnagar will definitely be marked as green zone in the next review, I am assured by those in the State government and the Centre,’ Madam said.
Madam added that although effectively there is not much difference between the relaxations given to districts marked under green zone and orange zone, but manufacturing units get more relaxations.
‘I am happy to share that industrial units, including export oriented units and all other units in urban area will get the benefit of relaxations, and therefore such units can reopen and function in day or two,’ she said.
Madam assured migrant labourers not to move back to their native states as their employment is intact and their employers will start their industrial units in day or two.
