Rajkot Police nabs five for black marketing of life saving Remedesivir injections

Rajkot: Crime Branch of Rajkot Police has busted black marketing racket of life-saving Remdesivir injections. Rajkot Police arranged a dummy customer and nabbed five persons including a woman. One of accused namely Himmatsinh Chauhan is Civil hospital’s daily wager employee. The accused would sell an injection worth Rs. 4,800 at price as high as Rs. 10,000 to 12,000. Police is investigating that how many injections were supplied at higher prices.

According to details received from police, city crime branch created a dummy customer who approached one of accused Devyani Chavda. Devyani demanded Rs. 20,000 for two injections to which dummy customer agreed. Accused Vishal Gohel came with injections. When questioned by Police, Vishal later confessed that he had purchased them from Ankit Rathod and Jagdish Sheth for Rs. 15,000. Rathod and Sheth work in affordable medicine shop in Jalaram Hospital. Jagdish Sheth told police that he had brought injections from one Himmat Chauhan who works in Nursing department of Rajkot Civil hospital for last ten months.

Police has arrested five accused namely Devyani Chavda(20), Vishal Gohel(21), Ankit Rathod(21), Jagdish Sheth(37) and Himmat Chavda(23).
