Ahmed Patel’s last rites performed at his native village Piraman in Gujarat

Piraman (Bharuch): Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat Shri Ahmed Patel was laid to rest at his native village Piraman in Bharuch district of Central Gujarat in the presence of hundreds of locals and Congress leaders.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, former Madhya Pradesh Chief minister Kamalnath among others attended the funeral of Ahmed Patel who was party’s Treasurer and Political Secretary of Congress President smt Sonia Gandhi.

Ahmed Patel passed away yesterday at 3.30 am in Gurugram based private hospital due to multiple organ failure linked to Covid-19 infection. His body reached Vadodara by air last evening and was taken to Piraman by road. He was laid to rest at a Muslim cemetery in Piraman next to graves of his parents as per his wish. Prior to this, his body was kept at the Sardar Patel Hospital of HMP foundation in Ankleshwar.
