In pictures: Shocking accident of BRTS with pillar of Akhbarnagar underpass

Ahmedabad: A driver and supervisor were injured in an accident of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) bus with a pillar of Akhbarnagar underpass in the city. There were no passengers in the bus when it hit a pillar. There’s a version that a moving bus hit pillar on central verge in attempt to save a two-wheeler rider. The other version is that the accident took place as steering of bus got locked. According to officials, a driver Ramesh Makwana has been taken to Asarwa based civil hospital. He was seriously injured but conscious. Supervisor Charanbhai suffered minor injuries. The accident occurred at 2.15 pm. The bus was in operation on ISKCON – RTO route.
