Seaplane returns from Maldives; Dry & Wet dock for maintenance to be created at Riverfront
December 30, 2020
Sabarmati: Additional Chief Secretary Rajeev Gupta today said, a maintenance facility (dry and wet dock) at Sabarmati Riverfront will be created soon for scheduled maintenance of Seaplane. It’s worth noting that a Seaplane service connecting Sabarmati riverfront and Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam was on halt for last few days as due to lack of dry and wet dock, the aircraft was sent to Maldives for scheduled maintenance. The government has decided to create wet and dry dock at Sabarmati riverfront itself so that maintenance works can be handled locally. At present there’s not a single dry and wet dock for maintenance of seaplane aircraft. Gupta said, union secretary of Civil Aviation department will be visiting Sabarmati Riverfront tomorrow in this connection. He said the government is planning to introduce a package containing to and from journy in Seaplane and visit to places of tourist interest at Statue of Unity complex. DeshGujarat
