Watch: Sardar bridge over Sabarmati dresses permanent lighting decoration

Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decorated city’s Sardar bridge over river Sabarmati with permanent lighting. The pillars and side verges of bridge can be seen changing colors. The scene from lower promenade of Sabarmati Riverfront is especially enchanting and it has attracted scores of spectators. AMC would earlier decorate river bridges with lighting only during special occasions like Navratri, Diwali, Gujarat Day or at times during VIP visits. However in last September, the Standing Committee of AMC took decision to decorate Sardar bridge, Vivekanand bridge and Nehru bridge with permanent lighting and approved Rs. 1 crore budget for each of three for this purpose. As many as 280 colorful lights projecting 36 different colors are to be used for each bridge. Sardar bridge is the first that has dressed decorative lighting.
