Gujarat BJP announces Mayors, office bearers of three cities

Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced the names of office bearers of three municipal corporations – Rajkot, Surat and Jamnagar – that went to regular elections recently. The party had earlier announced the names of office bearers of three other municipal corporations – Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Bhavnagar.
Hemali Boghawala has been made Mayor of Surat city with Dinesh Jodhani as her deputy. Paresh Patel has been made Chairman of Standing Committee while Amitsinh Rajput has been made leader of ruling group and Vinod Patel as whip.
In Rajkot, Dr. Pradip Dav has been made Mayor of the city with Darshita Shah as her deputy. Pushkar Patel has been made Chairman of Standing Committee. Vinubhai Dhava will be the leader of the ruling party group while Surendrasinh Vala will be a whip.
The party has selected Binaben Kothari for the post of Mayor in Jamnagar with Tapan Parmar as her deputy. Kusumben Pandya will be whip while Ketan Gosrani will be leader of ruling party group. Manish Katariya has been made Chairman of Standing Committee. DeshGujarat
