Gujarat govt appeals to stay away from celebration Dhuleti; Holi bonfire allowed in limited presence

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today said it has allowed the religious custom of Holi bonfire with crowd restrictions. The government however appealed citizens to stay away from throwing colors at each other and avoid celebrations of Rang Utsav on the occasion of Dhuleti which falls on the next day of Holi. The decision has been taken in a core committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel shared this information. Holi is over a week away. Holi bonfire is lit on the evening of Holi. Local people visit the bonfire for darshan and end a day-long fast. Rang Utsav is celebrated on the next day of Dhuleti during which water and colors are thrown at each other. Major clubs in Ahmedabad have already cancelled rain-dance and mass Dhuleti celebrations this year. The active caseload in the state was 6,7373 as on Friday. DeshGujarat
