AMC Commissioner presents Rs. 7,474 crore draft budget for 2021-22

Sabarmati: Municipal Commissioner of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Mukesh Kumar today presented Rs. 7475 crore draft budget of AMC for financial year 2021-22.

Among the new bridges proposed are Ghodasar split fly over bridge which shall be merged with existing railway bridge. Pallav – Pragatinagar junction flyover bridge. Satadhar char rasta flyover bridge and Naroda Patiya flyover bridge.

Highest 17.35 per cent budget allocation has been proposed for drainage followed by 14.03 per cent for roads and bridges, 10.92 per cent for loan to AMTS, 10.43 per cent for water and 8.84 percent for land and housing.

Revamp of VS hospital building, LG hospital campus building, Shardaben hospital, upgrade of 30 bed hospital proposed in Vastral ward to 100 bed hospital and new urban health centres at Raikhad, Sarkhej, Bopal, Kubernagar, Gota (Ognaj), Vejalpur, Motera, Vatva, Vastral, Naroda and Amraiwadi is also proposed in the budget.

Allocation of Rs. 310 crorefor 4 new flyovers, Rs. 633 crore for GRCP (World Bank) covered new STP augmentation and turtiery treatment plant works, Rs. 90 crore for 70:20:10 scheme, Rs. 180 crore works under 15th finance commission, Rs. 20 crore for World Heritage City, Rs. 498 crore for proposed international level sports complex, Rs. 10 crore for Sardar Patel Sports Enclaves. 85 crore has been made for riverfront phase-2, Rs. 25 crore for Kharicut canal and city ponds(10) development, Rs. 10 crore for 5 urban forests in Bopal-Ghuma, Kathwada, Chiloda etc new areas, Rs. 10 crore for Gandhi Ashram development. Revamp of 15 gardens, 14 new gardens, 2 community halls, 1 banquet hall, 8 modern night shelters with 3,442 beds are other items proposed in the budget.
