The second case of use of “Anti Love Jihad” law by Police in Gujarat

Vapi: Second case of Love Jihad has been reported in Vapi following the first case reported in Vadodara after the implementation of Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act 2021 or ‘Love Jihad law’. The accused had forcibly escaped with the victim woman to Ajmer from Vapi on 10th June 2021 and he was captured from Indore, Madhya Pradesh by the police.
The accused named Imran Vashi Ansari (age- 23 years, married) had forced the victim (age- 19 years) to escape and marry him by threatening to kill her brother. The accused had sexually assaulted the victim women many times in Ajmer and Indore and had also made unsuccessful attempt to marry her in Ajmer. The crime is reported under Section 4 of Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act 2021 and IPC Section 366, 376 (2) and 506 (2) against the accused by the police and further actions will be taken.
It is to be noted that the police have found nude photographs of the victim women from the cell-phone of the accused of recently emerged Love Jihad case of Vadodara named Samir Qureshi alias Martin. Police have sent the cell-phone to FSL for further investigation and added two more sections in the complaint registered against the accused which are Section 5 of Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act 2021 for forcibly converting the religion of the victim and Section 419 for adopting the fake name.
