Dudhsagar Dairy announces pay hike for milk producers

Mahesana: Dudhsagar Dairy declared a pay-hike of Rs 10 per kg of fat for the milk producers in 61st general meeting held on 8th July 2021 in the auditorium of the dairy. With this, Dudhsagar Dairy linked milk producers will get payment for milk produced at par with Banas dairy.
The pay-hike of Rs 5 in cow-milk and Rs 10 in buffalo-milk will be implemented from 11th July. A decision to launch a 108-like emergency service for the cattle was also taken in this meeting.
The pay-hike was declared for the second time to around 6.11 lakh cattle keepers of Mehsana, Patan and Gandhinagar after the Chairman Ashok Chaudhary came to power on 15th January this year. Previously, a price-hike of Rs 20 was declared on 23rd March.
Increase of Rs 10 per kg fat has led to total sum of Rs 680. Dudhsagar dairy earned a profit of Rs 237 crores this year. Leaders including secretaries of around 1500 mandlis had joined this meeting through the virtual system.
With latest pay-hike, Dudhsagar dairy has ranked 2nd among the unions giving the highest prices to milk producers. Amul dairy and Sabar dairy are on the first position for paying Rs 710 per kg of fat while Dudhsagar dairy and Banas dairy are on the second position for paying Rs 680 per kg fat to milk producers.
