Gandhinagar: Ratnakar ji has been appointed as General Secretary (Organization) of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat replacing Bhikhubhai Dalsaniya. Ratnakar is joint general secretary of party’s Bihar unit. Bhikhubhai Dalsaniya has been General Secretary (Organization) of Gujarat BJP for last 13 years. The post of General Secretary (Organization) is occupied by pracharak (full timer) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS). General Secretary (Organization) would attend every meeting of State level in Gujarat BJP. He would stay at party office for full time. He would also act as a link between BJP and RSS.

Deoria (Uttar Pradesh) based Ratnakar was assigned responsibility to strengthen the party in Bihar and made joint secretary (Organization) of party’s Bihar unit. This new post was specially created for him. He was previously regional general secretary of organization in Kashi and Gorakhpur region. Ratnakar had in that period worked to strengthen the party in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency area Varanasi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s home-place Gorakhpur. He was assigned Gorakhpur region after BJP lost Gorakhpur Lok Sabha by-election in 2018. As a joint general secretary of Bihar BJP, Ratnakar’s headquarter was Muzaffarpur. Ratnakar had been with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in the past.

In recently concluded general elections of assembly in West Bengal, Ratnakar could ensure victory on 30 of 54 seats of North Bengal that were assigned to him.
