PM Modi likely to visit Gujarat on September 5

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi is likely to launch the ‘School of Excellence’ project of Gujarat government worth Rs 8 thousand crores for the government run and grant-in-aid schools in the state on the ‘Teachers Day’ on 5th September 2021 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar during his Gujarat visit. PM Modi is also likely visit the Science-city and Gandhinagar Railway Station on the same day.
The project, PM Modi is going to inaugurate will cover 15 thousand government primary schools, 4 thousand grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools and 1 thousand government secondary and higher secondary schools. PM Modi will dedicate a total 250 ‘schools of excellence’, one per taluka, equipped with digital infrastructure through video conferencing from Mahatma Mandir.
PM Modi will also formally launch the Command and Control centre of State Education department. The project has materialized through World Bank loan of Rs 3700 crores and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank loan of Rs 1850 crores.
The State government is planning to bring 10 thousand schools from across the State under the status of ‘School of Excellence’ within a thousand days period after the Teachers Day and more 10 thousand schools within 500 days after that. The command and control centre will enable monitoring of attendance of students and teachers, quality of education, e-learning projects and online examinations in schools. DeshGujarat
