Doctors call of strike
August 13, 2021
Gandhinagar: The junior doctors in the state called off their strike at night on Thursday -12th August 2021 after the government accepted a few of their demands.
The government issued a government resolution (GR) claiming that one year of senior residency will be counted as bond service for the 2018 batch. To decide the provisions for the batch 2019 and 2020, the state government will set up a committee.
The government stated that there will be no deduction in the stipend or leave for the absence of the resident doctors at service during the duration of the strike. The state government withdrew the circular on closing down the hostels by claiming that the decision was only taken for the year 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic. The state government will consider the one year of senior residency during Covid-19 duty as one year of bond service. The resident doctors will be appointed in District Hospital (DH), Sub District Hospital or Community Health Centres (CHC) with stipend. DeshGujarat
