Over 110 artists play Bhungal at Tana Riri Mahotsav in Vadnagar

Vadnagar: Over 110 artists made a world record by playing the traditional musical instrument Bhungal simultaneously for 5 minutes on the first day of 2-day Tana-Riri Mahotsav, yesterday on 12th November at Vadnagar.
The artists of Turi-barot and nayak community played Bhungal for 5 minutes in the afternoon and gave tribute to Shiv-Shakti. They performed Tihai in Graj Swar by Bhungal along with the taal of Tabla, Hinch and Padhru. Baldevbhai Nayak, Mugatram and coordinator Dahyabhai Nayak did a commendable job in this performance.
The 2-day Tana-Riri Mahotsav started yesterday in Vadnagar, Mehsana. Yesterday, on the first day of this ceremony, Padma Shri awardee Kavita Krishnamurthy and Dr Viraj Amar Bhatt performed classical singing and Padma Bhushan awardee Pandit L Subramanian gave a violin performance. The state government’s Tana-Riri Sangit Sanman Award will be given in this Mahotsav to Padma Shri awardee Kavita Krishnamurthy and Dr Viraj Amar Bhatt at the hands of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel.
