-The Director of IIT Gandhinagar Shri Sudhir Jain who was recently presented Padma award by President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan, has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of Banaras Hindu Univerisy.

-After uproar over permission to only 400 persons (sadhu – saints mainly) to do Girnar parikrama this year in symbolic manner due to Covid-19 pandemic situation, the district collector has modified his decision and decided to allow the groups of 400-pilgrims to do parikrama separately. However there’s no facility on parikrama route for pilgrims, such as drinking water, sanitation, safety and security from wild animals, meals and more. It’s worth noting that thousands of people have reached Junagadh and gathered there to participate in Parikrama inspite of district collector’s earlier announcement that only 400 persons will be allowed to take part in parikrama in symbolic manner.

Polling for the election of Vapi municipality in South Gujarat will take place on November 28 while counting will take place on November 30. Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has renewed 13 existing Councillors and fielded them in the election along with 31 new candidates for this 44-seat election.

– Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will declare Vadodara district as 100 per cent tapped water supplied district on Tuesday, as the works for tapped water supply to 3.26 lakh houses has completed under ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ yojana.

– Hindi film actress Madhuri Dikshit continued to shoot for a Hindi movie in a bungalow in Ahmedabad’s Vasna area. A few dozen admirer of Madhuri had gathered outside to have her glimpse. The shooting had started in a bungalow in Narayannagar locality of Vasna yesterday.

– An entire family from Rander area of Surat has been detected covid positive after they returned from a wedding function in Pune in Maharashtra. Five including two kids of same family are detected covid positive. Fortunately the adults are all fully vaccinated. Most covid positive cases recorded post Diwali are linked to visit outside the state during Diwali vacation.

– Rickshaw drivers in Ahmedabad are going on strike from midnight today for two days 15-16 November against increasing price of CNG, the fuel utilized in rickshaws. The union leaders said that if this 36-hour long strike doesn’t bring any result, there will be indefinite strike from November 21.

-A video has gone viral in which husband and wife fell into the sea after a rope of parachute crashed in the sea in Diu. The other end of rope was tied with a boat. Luckily the couple was brought to shore safely.
