AMC to complete Rs. 70 crore Jagatpur flyover in a year

Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will build Rs. 70 crore Jagatpur flyover in a year. The AMC had taken a decision to build this flyover three years ago.
At that time it was decided that the State government would spend half the coast while rest of the cost will be devided equally between the Railways and private firm Siddhi Developers.
However after pandemic situation, Siddhi developers declined to pay shared cost. With the word of a new flyover proposed, the builder had managed to get good number of buyers for his scheme nearby.
After prolong deliberations, Siddhi developers has given cheque of Rs. 7 crore as advance to AMC. The State government will bear half the cost of this project while Railways will spend 25 per cent cost. As per the agreement, Mukesh Patel led Siddhi group had promised to pay Rs 16.91 crore as his contribution for the Rs 67.66 crore flyover but now agreed to pay Rs 7 crore, it is learnt.
