Gandhinagar: Gujarat has recorded 204 fresh cases of coronavirus infection in 24 hours period ending 5 pm today against 65 recoveries and nil death. The number of active cases has gone up beyond thousand to 1,086 in the State.

Fresh cases recorded in 24 hours among cities: Ahmedabad 98, Rajkot 33, Surat 22, Vadodara 16, Gandhinagar 4, Bhavnagar Jamnagar and Junagadh 1 each.

Among districts: Kheda 4, Mahisagar and Rajkot 3 each, Ahmedabad, Anand, Bharuch, Kutch 2 each, Banakantha, Dahod, Gandhinagar, Mahesana, Navsari, Panchmahal, Surat, Surendranagar, Vadodara, Valsad 1 each.

Among new covid cases recorded today, 24 were Omicron variant including 13 in Ahmedabad, 4 in Gandhinagar, 3 in Rajkot and 1 each in Amreli, Anand, Bharuch and Vadodara.

With this the State has total 73 Omicron variant cases, of which 17 are discharged.

On vaccination front, over 4 lakh doses of covid vaccines were administered in a day, taking the statewide total so far above 8.85 crore.
