Gujarat govt postpones Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2022

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has decided to postpone the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Summit which was to be held during 10-12 January. The decision has been taken by the Chief Minister due to the present situation of coronavirus pandemic. The decision was taken today in a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in larger interest of the citizens.
Spokesperson minister Rajendra Trivedi in his briefing said that the Chief Minister held a review meeting and also received guidance from senior leaders, after which a pro-people decision has been taken by the Chief Minister and Vibrant Summit scheduled on 10-11-12 January has been cancelled (for now). Another Spokesperson minister Jitubhai Vaghani hailed government’s decision to postpone the summit. He said, the meetings of core committee chaired by Chief Minister are held on daily basis and one such meeting is also scheduled today evening. The decisions will be taken time-to-time as per the situation in such meetings.
Gujarat government later in the day also postponed the ‘Holistic Healthcare Summit’ which was scheduled to take place on January 7th as Pre-Vibrant Gujarat Summit event.
A communication from the State government stated (translation from Gujarati) that there has been escalation in the situation of covid pandemic situation in last one week or so. Thanks to intensive vaccination, tracing and tracking, the situation is majorly in control and yesterday recovery rate seen in covid patients had been up at 97.48 per cent. Along with covid infection, the cases of new Omicron variant have also been observed and the administration taking sufficient care for treatment and isolation of patients. Globally, the pandemic cases are on rise and spread has increased in various nations. The Chief Minister did overall review of the situation for the purpose of arrest of spread of covid infection and omicron cases. Considering these all things, the Chief Minister has in larger interest of citizens, taken a decision to postpone the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit which was scheduled to take place during 10-12 January 2022. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has specially thanked prime minister Shri Narendra Modi for his continuous guidance and inspiration in planning of this summit. Chief Minister said, the Prime Minister has always been concerned about welfare, happiness, safety and healthiness of people. The Chief Minister said, Gujarat is global model of development and Vibrant Gujarat Summit has been an able platform for global investors and businessmen. Various country leaders, dignitaries, high-level delegations and countrywide business/trade operators had showed excitement to partner the event and registered for the same. The State government had timely planned the summit with desire to take the State to new heights in the sectors of trade and commerce. The Chief Minister has conveyed thanks to the nations who joined as partner countries, the dignitaries and delegations and expected thei such response in future too. The Chief Minister has thanked central ministers, senior officials who extended cooperation for the success of pre-Vibrant summit that were organized ahead of the main summit.
