Religious conversion racket: Two trustees of Baitulmal Trust arrested in hawala case

Vadodara: Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police has arrested two accused trustees of Baitulmal trust nabbed in religious conversion racket, through transfer warrant from Bharuch jail.
The two accused trusties named Sajid Ahmed Patel and Yusuf Valihasan Patel of Baitulmal trust of Ochhad were nabbed in a religious conversion racket in Kankariya village of Bharuch. They were booked for Hawala scam by Vadodara crime branch. Their links have emerged with Salaudin Shaikh. Salaudin Shaikh had paid a fund of Rs 3.70 lakh to both accused trustees for religious conversion. The accused trustees had made bogus receipts of donation after accepting the amount, as per the findings of investigation of SIT.
The SIT police had conducted an inquiry of Baitulmal trust accountant Ismail Abdul Patel and Ibrahim Adam Patel. It was found in the inquiry that Salaudin had given the fund for religious conversion but he had refused to mention his name for giving that amount. So, both accused trustees had produced bogus bills. The accused Salaudin Shaikh from Fatehgunj is alleged to be diverting the funds received from foreign countries under Afmi charitable trust.
