Sentencing in Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts case deferred to February 11

Gandhinagar: Sentencing of 49 persons held guilty for 2008 Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts deferred to February 11 following a plea by the convicts seeking time to produce relevant documents to bring forth evidence of mitigating circumstances.
The arguments between the government lawyer and defendant party took place in the court today. The government lawyer Amit Patel informed that the defendant party had asked for the time of 3 weeks but the court granted time of only one day. The lawyers of defendants are supposed to meet them in jails till 5 pm today.
The sentencing of 49 persons held guilty out of 78 accused was scheduled today. The court has acquitted 28 other accused. One guilty out of the 49 named Ayaz Saiyad is acquitted for helping in the investigation. DeshGujarat
