Gothan – Hazira goods railway line; Notification for land acquisition issued

Surat: The district collector has issued a notification to acquire land for a 40-km goods railway line linking Gothan railway junction and Hazira.
The notification has been issued for the land acquisition in 14 villages for 85 hectares of land of 275 block numbers in the Olpad region. The new railway line would boost industries in Hazira. There is a single railway track in Hazira Patti made for KRIBHCO.
The industries in Hazira had demanded a new goods railway track in Hazira belt. The villages under proposed land acquisition plan include Variyav, Saroli, Jahangirpura, Vankala, Okha, Bhesan, Malgama, Achharan, Ichchhapor, Damka, Bhatlai, Mora, and Shivrampur. DeshGujarat
