People forgive your mistakes because they want Modi to win: Patil to party men

Surat: The people do forgive your mistakes because they want Narendrabhai Modi to win. Narendra Modi is ideal for them and they cannot imagine his defeat. The people see Narendra Modi and forget all other things. The President of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said this while addressing a gathering of party’s active workers on Tuesday here. The address was virtually relayed to thousands of party leaders and cadres present at other venues across major cities of Gujarat.

‘You must be thankful to the people that forgive you due to Narendrabhai Modi. Take a pledge that next time you don’t make mistakes. Say thanks to BJP cadres as well. Don’t be in the illusion of self-importance. You don’t win due to your work, your popularity, your caste or your money. The only main reason for your victory is Narendrabhai Modi saheb and the second reason is this army of party cadres,’ Patil told party workers.

Patil said the party in Gujarat has 1.14 crore primary members, 1.29 lakh active members and 60 lakh page committee members. Patil asked party men to make page committee members as primary members of the party. He also gave a task to visit the members enrolled by them.

Patil said, Congress would not find candidates in upcoming assembly elections. He said Congress men will avoid contesting elections and ask others to contest due to fear of losing. He recalled party’s recent victories.

‘There were by-polls of nine assembly seats. Congress beleived that they were their seats as they had won there previously. But Congress won none of them. In six municipal corporation, BJP had 388 seats earlier. In the last elections, BJP won 96 more seats and crossed 500 mark. Out of 31 district panchayats, BJP had only 6 while Congress was ruling 25. In the last elections, Congress claimed that BJP wouldn’t get good results in rural areas. However when the result was out, Congress couldn’t win even a single district panchayat. BJP won them all. In some district panchayats, Congress couldn’t win even a single seat. In some others their tally remained in single digits. BJP also captured 205 out of total 231 taluka panchayats and 75 out of 81 municipalities. The party also won all 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat on two occasions. Patil gave credit of these victories to party karyakartas (cadres).

Patil admired Bhupendra Patel government and listed out the works done. He also stressed the need to give hearing to party cadres and address their issues.DeshGujarat
