Ahmedabad: The Metropolitan Court has granted conditional bail to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party spokesperson Danish Qureshi on a bond of Rs 25 thousand.

The conditional bail is granted with a condition that the bail will be cancelled if the mistake is repeated. He will have to remain present at the related police station between the 1st and 5th day of every month. He will have to submit his passport in the court and he won’t be able to change his address or mobile number without the permission of court.

AIMIM spokesperson Danish Qureshi was arrested for a derogatory comment on Shivling on social media. Government pleader Nayan Sukhadwala argued in the court that the offense was made to disrupt the environment amidst the elections arriving in the upcoming period. He had demanded to not grant the bail looking at the seriousness of the case. Danish Qureshi’s lawyer argued that he made such an offense for the first time and he should be pardoned. DeshGujarat
