Primary school dropout rate plunged sharply in last two decades in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: The dropout rate in primary schools of the state has come down from 37.22% in 2002 to 3.39% in 2022, while the number of universities in the corresponding two decades has shot up from 21 to 103.
There were 775 colleges in the state in 2002 which has risen to 3,117. There were a mere 26 engineering colleges in 2002 while their number stands at 133 as of today. The number of polytechnics has gone up from 31 to 144, while technical colleges have risen from 108 to 503. Even seats in the medical colleges have gone up from 1,375 to 5,700. DeshGujarat.
