Sahara Darwaza multi-layer bridge to be thrown open for public on Sunday

Surat: The repairing work going on at Surat’s most busy flyovers, the ring road flyover, is on the verge of completion. To ease the traffic situation on this bridge, the Sahara Darwaza multi-layer bridge has also been constructed. There is strong possibility that the ring road flyover may be reopened for traffic along with the inauguration of Sahara Darwaza multi-layer bridge on the coming Sunday.
The bridge is likely to be dedicated to the people at the hands of BJP Gujarat unit chief CR Patil, urban development minister, Vinod Moradiya and Union Minister, Darshana Jardosh next Sunday.
The Sahara Darwaza multilayer bridge has been constructed with the objective to reduce some traffic load on the ring road, especially near the Sahara Darwaza junction. The vehicles heading towards the Surat-Kadodara road, which connects to the highway, also pass along Sahara Darwaza Junction. The traffic situation at the Sahara Darwaza junction has been further exacerbated due to the coming up of markets such as the Bombay Market on the Surat-Kadodara road.
The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has constructed this Railway-multi-layer flyover at a at a cost of Rs 133 crore to reduce the traffic load on the ring road. The Sahara Darwaza flyover has a special ramp to allow vehicles to go from Varaccha area to the Surat-Kamrej road. It will also provide connectivity to vehicles going from ring road towards Surat-Kamrej road through the Varaccha area of the city. This bridge will also useful for traffic going from the Railway Station towards Surat-Kadodara road.
Besides, vehicular traffic will be able to move in both directions at the road level through the underpass below the Surat-Mumbai railway line. Also, traffic will be able to go towards Mumbai and towards Surat from above the underpass.
After inauguration, when vehicular traffic is moving in both directions, transport will be seen in all three layers simultaneously. DeshGujarat.
