Gandhinagar: The Gandhinagar police have succeeded in rescuing a youth of Mansa from the clutches of immigration agents who in the name of sending him to Canada instead held him hostage in Kolkata and continued to demand money from his family members.
The fraudsters finally sent the youth back on a flight to New Delhi after the police cut off all their ways of extracting money from his family.
Ankit Shaileshbhai Patel, the concerned youth from Mansa, was lured with the dream of sending him to Canada but held him hostage in Kolkata. They also continued to demand money from Ankit’s family. A complaint to this effect was lodged with Gandhinagar police.
The Gandhinagar police started efforts to rescue the youth and sent a team to Kolkata, where they learnt that agent Bhargav Patel and Devas Panchal were in Dubai. The police managed to arrest their accomplices who had come to collect the money posing as Angadia. Thus, all routes to extract money were closed. The accused were also given information about the consequences of their actions under the law following which the agent’s men made Ankit board a flight to New Delhi. At Delhi, Ankit got on to a flight for Ahmedabad where the Gandhinagar police were waiting to escort him safely. The police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
