One dead as Audi car crushes and drags him for 100 meters

Ahmedabad: A youth died after he got crushed under an Audi car as the car driver didn’t stop and dragged him for 100 meters in Ahmedabad.

A youth named Yash Gaekwad was returning from his job at Vishala Restaurant and passing from Torrent Power bridge near RTO in the night on Thursday on his bike. He got crushed under an Audi car after he knocked on a divider of the bridge. The driver of the Audi named Nilesh Ravat did not stop despite knowing that the youth was under the car. He dragged him for 100 meters from the bridge to the RTO circle and collector office and he stopped at Ghanshyam society. He stopped the car there and ran away.

The deceased Yash Gaekwad lived in Kalpataru park near Zundal with his parents and younger brother. He worked as a cashier in Vishala hotel near Juhapura circle and his job timing was 1 pm to 11 pm. When he was returning home late at night on his bike after work, he suddenly knocked on a divider after climbing 100 feet of the Chimanbhai bridge from Subhashbridge and fell in the opposite direction. He got crushed under an Audi car coming in front of him.

The car driver Nilesh Ravat went to the airport to pick up the car owner after the accident. When the car owner Rohan Shah asked the driver how the car got damaged, he replied that a dog got crushed under the car. The driver and car owner returned in an auto rickshaw from the airport. The police have started checking the CCTV footage of the whole route.

The L Division traffic police have started to find the car driver after filing a crime against him.
