Ahmedabad: The Income tax department today is conducting multiple searches across states such as Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Chattisgarh in connection with tax evasion and unrecognized funds to political parties.

In Gujarat, the IT department is raiding more than 20 places. Earlier today, the campus of Silver Oak University, Ahmedabad was evacuated, and the search was underway.

The income tax department is also conducting raids at the house of Shital Agrawal, the president and trustee of this private university.

Information indicates that there was a conversion of black money to white money at university. Also, the funds donated under Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) to various political parties and institutions are under the radar of the IT department.

About 100 locations are being raided in the whole country today.
