Surat: Two religious structures, which had become a traffic nuisance on Surat’s ring road, were demolished late at night by the municipal administration with a help of Local police.

The central zone of Surat Municipal corporation demolished a dargah and a temple on the ring road amid heavy police deployment by the Surat police in a smooth operation. The operation was monitored by senior police official Usha Rada. After conducting the operation in a peaceful manner, the SMC also built the road in just two hours.

Prior to the demolition, barricading was done around religious places which are in the jurisdiction of Mahidharpura police station. Locals and commuters have hailed the decisions as they said it would ease the traffic movement.
