Female rescued after she drowned in river Sabarmati while trying to board cruise

Sabarmati: A female survived after she drowned in Sabarmati river while trying to enter a cruise at the riverfront in Ahmedabad.

A female named Chitra Rakhiyani from Surat had came to Sabarmati riverfront with her husband, son, sister and cousins. They planned to sit in the Antarctic Sea World Cruise Boat at the Ashram Road Riverfront. They purchased tickets online through online payment. When the female was going to enter the cruise, a flow of the water occurred. The cruise moved far from the bank when the water flow occurred. The female lost balance and drowned in the river. She drowned deep inside the water. Her purse came out of the water. Her family members started shouting for help. The female stopped her breath and tried to move towards the surface. She came towards the surface and hung onto a railing. The cruise team then arrived there and took her out. The woman has filed a complaint against the cruise company at the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation.

Meanwhile the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has served a notice to Antarctic Sea World operator.
