Rajkot: Two sitting councilors of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) from ward number 15 are declared disqualified by the Urban Development department of the Government of Gujarat. Vashram Sagathiya and Komal Barai were elected as Congress councilors in the last Municipal Corporation election. Later in April of this year, they left Congress and joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with former Congress MLA Indranil Rajyaguru. Congress party had objected and challenged this move under the Representation of the people act. The concerned department of State government has given approval to the Congress party’s demand and declared both councilors disqualified. The councilors in question have decided to challenge this decision in the High Court. DeshGujarat
