Dilip Chhotubhai Vasava leaves BTP ; alleges Mahesh Vasava ignores father

Bharuch: Dilip Vasava, son of Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) founder and MLA Chhotubhai Vasava has resigned from the party. Dilip Vasava is the younger son of Chhotubhai and he was the General Secretary of BTP. MLA Mahesh Vasava is the elder son of Chhotubhai and the President of BTP.  Recently Mahesh Vasava denied a ticket to his father Chhotubhai Vasava and declared his own candidature on the Jhaghadia seat replacing Chhotubhai.

Younger son Dilip Vasava was upset with this. Dilip Vasava today tweeted: the way BTP and BTTS national president Mahesh Vasava has ignored Chhotubhai A Vasava, the fight for the rights of ST, SC, OBC, and minority communities is facing huge damage. In view of this, I Dilip Chhotubhai Vasava resign from all posts of BTP and BTTS.

BTP has two seats where its candidate can hope for victory. They are Jhaghadia and Dediapada. While Jhaghadia seat, the safest for the party has been won by Chhotubhai Vasava through last many terms, Dediapada seat is occupied by Chhotubhai’s son Mahesh Vasava.  Mahesh has recently declared his candidature on Jhaghadia seat, replacing father Chhotu Vasava. Differences between Mahesh and Chhtoubhai have emerged recently. While Chhotubhai said, BTP would contest in alliance with JDU, Mahesh Vasava refuted this and said there’s no such alliance. Early this year, BTP had announced an alliance with Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, and Vasavas and Kejriwal also addressed joint public meetings. However later, Chhotubhai declared that there was no such alliance. While BTP remains a two-seat wonder, its candidates sometimes get sufficient votes in a handful of tribal area seats to make or break the chances of other candidates. In local elections in 2021, BTP had suffered a huge defeat. Even Dilip Vasava had lost the poll. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP was in plus on Jhaghadia seat. Chhotubhai who himself was the candidate, had received over 13,000 lesser votes than rival BJP candidate Mansukh Vasava.
