Rajkot Civic Body wins two national awards in e-governance
December 10, 2022
Rajkot: Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has bagged a national e-governance award for its OTP-based complaint redressal system. The corporation also won a silver award in the category of ‘Excellence in district-level initiative in e-governance’.
During last year’s administrative reforms, the civic body implemented a project where complaints are closed in the system only after the complainant provides an OTP. A complaint that has not been resolved within the specified period is escalated to higher officials.
RMC has solved around 4.26 lakh complaints by this OTP-based system in the last year after its implementation in August 2021. People can use this service through a toll-free number, WhatsApp, RMC website as well as a mobile app and the time for redressal is also system generated.
