Vadnagar, Sun Temple Modhera added to UNESCO tentative World Heritage List

Gandhinagar: Vadnagar – A multi-layered Historic town in Gujarat, Sun Temple, Modhera and its adjoining monuments and Rock-cut Sculptures and Reliefs of the Unakoti, Unakoti Range, Unakoti District have found a place in the tentative list of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
UNESCO Director Lazare Assomo has conveyed this to Ambassador of India to UNESCO, Vishal Sharma, through a letter.
With this, three sites from Gujarat have entered into the tentative list including the Wild Ass sanctuary in Little Rann of Kutch which was added to the list in the year 2006. There are total of 52 sites from India in the tentative list of UNESCO.
Among inscribed sites from India in UNESCO list are Champaner-Pavagadh, Rani ni Vav Patan, Dholavira and Historic city of Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat
