Record high allocation for Railways in Gujarat in union budget: Railway Minister

Gandhinagar: Provision for allocation of Rs. 8,332 crore has been made in the union budget for Railways in Gujarat. This is a record allocation for Gujarat, said Railway minister Ashwini Kumar while reacting to a media query. He said the average allocation for Gujarat in the domain of Railways from 2009 to 2014 was Rs. 589 crores. Compared to this, the allocation provisioned in the recently presented union budget for railways in Gujarat is 14 times more. The railway minister further stated that as many as 87 railway stations in Gujarat are covered under the central government’s initiative for the transformation of railway stations. DeshGujarat
