Locals in Himmatnagar hold Ram Dhun seeking strict enforcement of Disturbed Areas Act

Sabarkantha: Locals in Himmatnagar organized a protest demanding the strict enforcement of the Disturbed Areas Act in the city. As part of their protest, they organized a Ram Dhun at the Tower chowk area. The Disturbed Areas Act is already in place in the Polo Ground Alkapuri area, but despite this, people are buying and selling properties without following any of the rules.

According to the locals, people from other communities are purchasing houses at higher rates in the area and attempting to create a turbulent atmosphere. The locals alleged that about 225 properties have been transferred in collusion with local administrations.

A local, speaking to the media, stated that despite the Disturbed Areas Act being in place, 222 properties have been transferred in the last 2-3 years with the help of the Municipality and the City Survey Office, according to reports. The locals have demanded a probe from the DSP, Collector, and CBI to verify this and to enforce the act. DeshGujarat
