Surat: Gujarat High Court on Friday issued a notice to the union government and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) regarding a PIL over toll rates on National Highway 8.

The All India Motor Transport Congress and Gujarat truck transport association have filed a PIL expressing discontent with the decision to maintain high toll rates on the Bharuch-Surat and Surat-Dahisar stretches of NH8.

The petitioners have argued that after the completion of the concession period, toll tax rates were expected to be reduced to 40% of the original rates, but the authorities have not complied with this requirement. DeshGujarat
