Gujarat’s per capita income exceeds national average

Gandhinagar: According to the report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) for 2021-22 on Gujarat, the state’s per capita income surpassed the national average.
The CAG report mentioned that Gujarat’s per capita income was Rs. 2,76,588 in 2021-22, which was higher than the all-India average of Rs. 1,72,913. The state achieved all major fiscal targets set under the Gujarat Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2005, during the year. Furthermore, the state’s percentage of fiscal deficit to Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at 1.17% and to public debt at 15.86% remained within the targets set under the act.
Additionally, outstanding guarantees of the state were Rs. 3,044 crore during 2021-22, which was much lower than the ceiling of Rs. 20,000 crore prescribed under the Gujarat State Guarantees Act, 1963, according to the report. DeshGujarat
