Vadodara Ram Navami violence: police adds IPC Section 295A and nabs 12 more

Vadodara: The Police have added IPC Section 295A “Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs” in the case of stone pelting on the Ram Navami procession in the Fatepura area of Vadodara.
The SIT has apprehended 12 accused, including Istiyan Iliyas Shaikh, who was roaming with a sword, and two brothers who pelted stones from a masjid in the Fatepura area. The sword was seized from Istiyan Iliyas Shaikh, who was arrested for publicly carrying a weapon. The 12 accused were produced in court today. The police added section 295A of IPC based on evidence found during the investigation.
The names of the 12 accused are Istiyan Iliyas Shaikh, Jaypalsinh Vikramsinh Raj, Savan Kanchan Harijan, Vinayak Kishor Chalke, Sagar Prakash Trivedi, Arjun Mohan Sargara, Rahul Vijay Rajpur, Raj alias Rajkumar Bharat Darbar, Mehul alias Romio Sanjay Rajput, Salim Ismail Dudhwala, Noman Ilias Shaikh (who pelted stones from the masjid), and Amir Arif Mansuri. The investigation is ongoing under the direct supervision of the police commissioner. So far, 40 accused have been nabbed in the rioting case. DeshGujarat
