COVID-19 under control in Gujarat; Mock drill on April 10-11: Health Minister

Gandhinagar: The COVID-19 situation is under control in Gujarat, and the state will also organize a mock drill in all COVID hospitals on April 10-11, said the state health minister on Friday.
During a review meeting chaired by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday, Rushikesh Patel, a health minister of Gujarat, stated that the COVID-19 situation in the state was under control, with 20,000 to 22,000 tests being conducted daily to detect infections.
Patel added that Gujarat was one of the leading states in the country in terms of per million tests. According to state government data, Gujarat has 2,142 active cases, and the mortality rate is 3%. On April 10 and 11, a mock drill will be organized at all designated Covid-19 hospitals across the state to ensure the proper functioning of medical equipment and infrastructure.
Patel also mentioned that although the XBB.1.16 variant is currently prevalent, it is not deadly. On Friday, Gujarat tested 16,653 samples. DeshGujarat
