Rajkot police nabs 3 for placing timer bomb in a mobile shop

Rajkot: The police have nabbed three people, including a female, for making and placing a timer bomb disguised as a parcel in a mobile accessories shop in Gundawadi area of Rajkot city.

The manager of Gujarat Mobiles in Gundawadi, named Bhavaram Chaudhari, filed a complaint at Bhaktinagar police station on April 7th. The complaint stated that a female customer placed a parcel in his shop on the evening of April 6th and did not return to retrieve it. The parcel exploded at 2.48 am, causing a fire in the shop that burnt the mobile accessories. The police identified the accused female in the CCTV footage, but she had covered her face with cloth.

During their inquiry, the police nabbed Kalaram alias Kalpesh Chaudhari, who runs a mobile accessories shop near the ST bus-port, his brother-in-law Shravan, and the accused female, identified as Doli. The accused had made a timer bomb using ammunition from the Sutli bomb, a mobile battery, electric wire, and a watch. They involved Doli in the scam and asked her to put the parcel with the timer bomb in the shop.

The accused had planned the scam due to competition in the business. The accused, Kalaram, and the complainant, Bhavaram, are primarily from Rajasthan and run mobile accessories businesses in rented shops. The same owner owns both of their shops. It is learned that Bhavaram had attempted to take over Kalaram’s rented shop near the bus-port. DeshGujarat
