First batch of 300 people from Tamil Nadu visit Somnath for Saurashtra Tamil Sangam

Somnath: The Saurashtra-Tamil Sangam has started at Somnath in Gujarat, from today. The 10-day long program witnessed the first batch of 300 people from Tamil Nadu today. The people, who settled in Tamil Nadu from Saurashtra years ago, are delighted to be back to their motherland. They are also reaping benefits of Gujarat’s hospitality.
Ms. N.B. Rojarani, who came from Salem in Tamil Nadu to Somnath said, “Coming to Gujarat has given me a great satisfaction. Saurashtra is our native place. Our forefathers were here. They worshiped Lord Shiva and worshiped the Sun.” He said that he is coming to Gujarat for the first time today, but he feels as if he is his own. It feels great to be here, for which I thank the Gujarat Government and PM Shri Narendra Modi.
Another guest at Saurashtra Tamil Sangam Mr. Rajendran said that this is an auspicious arrangement. They reached Gujarat by train and received a very warm welcome. He said, “I appreciate Tourism Department of Gujarat Government for such hospitality.I also appreciate the efforts made by our Prime Minister Shri Modi and the Chief Minister of Gujarat. It was our dream to visit Gujarat for a long time. I am the seventh generation of our family and I am the first person in the family to visit Saurashtra today. Today my dream has come true because of the Saurashtra-Tamil Sangam programme.”
The happiness of coming back to their motherland is evident in the guests who have reached Saurashtra from Tamil Nadu. They are enjoying the program and relishing benefits of the arrangements made by the Gujarat Government.
