Surendranagar: A college student was arrested in Wadhvan on Sunday for printing fake Rs 100 denomination notes. The accused was inspired by the web series ‘Farzi,’ to print counterfeit money to make a quick profit. Amid concerns regarding how crime, drugs, alcohol, smoking, same-sex relations, etc are promoted in OTT web series, the incident is eye-catching.
The Special Operation Group (SOG) arrested Rahul Vadodaria, a 25-year-old third-year college student residing in Shiv Park Society in Wadhvan, for printing fake Rs 100 denomination notes. They confiscated 134 Fake India Currency Notes (FICN) along with a laptop computer, printer, a metal ruler, printing papers, and a cutter during the raid.
Rahul’s father works as a compounder in a private hospital. During questioning, Rahul admitted that he was inspired by the web series ‘Farzi.’ The officials also found 192 genuine Indian currency notes worth Rs 4,320 during the raid. DeshGujarat
