Rains likely to return to Gujarat from June 9

Gandhinagar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dry weather until June 8th across Gujarat. However, all ports on the Gujarat coast are on alert as cyclonic storm “Biparjoy” forms in the Arabian Sea. The Met Department has issued a fishermen’s warning, advising them not to venture into the sea. Furthermore, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rain in parts of Gujarat from June 9th to June 11th.
According to the IMD bulletin, “Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30- 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Surat, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli and Bhavnagar,” on June 9th.
On June 10th, “Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30- 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli and Bhavnagar.”
On June 11th, “Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30- 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Surat, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Narmada, Bharuch, Tapi and in Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar and in Diu”
